I enjoyed following all of the shows during New York City’s Fall 2012 Fashion Week show last week.  There were a lot of designers to get through, but I definitely zeroed in on some of my favorite looks/collections from this season’s show!  I can’t wait to see how many of these trends end up in our stores this fall.

1. Calvin Klein Collection – talk about a strong, independant woman!  What I liked about this collection was the use of strong fabrics such as wool and leather but used within a very delicate and feminine silhouette.  It was a beautiful paradox that really worked.  The collection was mostly black but a couple of looks were presented in a beautiful orange color as well.  This was my favorite look of the collection:

2. J. Mendel Collection – I was completely blown away by this collection!  AH-MAY-ZING!  There were so many different looks and colors but it was so cohesive and totally flawless.  I keep wondering if we will see any of these looks at the Academy Awards on Sunday.  The gowns were so unique and I had a hard time choosing a favorite…I actually did eeny-meeny-miney-moe and landed on this.  Perfection.

3. Jill Stuart Collection – flirty, girly and fun!  This collection enhances a lot of trends that are currently happening like lace with stripes and large prints.  The dark color palette still keeps the looks sophisticated but hints of whimsy are throughout the collection with bouncy skirts, tulle and floral prints.

Today is National Wear Red Day in support of Go Red For Women and The American Heart Association.  Heart disease is the #1 killer of women and the American Heart Association encourages everyone to wear red today, and all of February for National Heart Month, to show your support.

Dress up your outfit with these sassy red pumps from Shoe Dept – Encore at The Marketplace Mall.  Available for $29.98!  This x-strap heel from Unlimited Material World has a satin finish sure to compliment your ensemble.  

Let’s not forget the men! I found this attractive lightweight jacket at Old Navy for $30 (originally $39.94)!  This jacket is fully lined with striped rib-knit cuffs and hem. Perfectly casual and practical.  

Or, if your man prefers to be more discrete, I found these red boxers at Banana Republic!  They are limited edition for Valentine’s Day and $19.50 each.  These boxers have an added wash for a softer feel. 

OK, back to the ladies.   I found this sweet and sexy red dress at Express for $69.90!  Slip on this soft knit dress and achieve a sophisticated look with amazing ease. Ruching at the neck and waistline add shape, and unique surplice wrapping on the sides of the tank add drape, while a hidden lining provides comfort.
